It's time to dust off your old Kenny Loggins and Righteous Brothers albums, because "Top Gun 2" is in the works.
Paramount Pictures approached producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott with offers to re-vamp the 1980s hit, according to New York magazine. They've also got their sights set on "The Usual Suspects" screenwriter and Oscar winner Christopher McQuarrie to bring Maverick's world into the 21st century.
Speaking of Maverick, Tom Cruise will be reprising the role in a smaller format, so long as it's not too "obvious." So flight instructor is out; maybe military advisor to the president? Russian double-agent? Janitor? Only time will tell.
