The Rocky Mountain News reports that the Lions are close to agreeing to trade DT Shaun Rogers to Denver. A deal couldn't be official until Friday.

The terms are unclear, but this is typical high-risk, high-reward Mike Shanahan move. We think it's worth it. Rogers' effort and conditioning are suspect, but he's a Pro Bowl quality defensive tackle in his prime. Denver is desperate for some help upfront and Rogers is a quick fix. Its uncertain if he'll get new money as part of the deal. Feb. 25 - 6:15 pm et

A league source tells Profootballtalk.com that owner Jerry Jones is working on a deal to bring Javon Walker to Dallas.

However, the source says it's possible Walker's knee won't allow him to pass a physical. There seems to be a lot of concern about Walker's long-term health within the league. He shouldn't cost more than a fifth-round pick. Feb. 25 - 3:22 pm et

5th round pick for Walker? I'd take a chance on his bum knee for a 5th rounder

lol.....maybe a bit more than "suspect". I like the guy, but being in shape is not one of his strong points.

We didn't lose out on Corey Williams. He was tagged. And we don't know if we aren't going after Rogers. For all we know Denver is offering a ridiculously high pick for him.

wouldnt it be great if the Lions traded Rodgers for Walker...

that would just seem like the Matt Millen type move.

Lions don't need another WR while they still have Roy Williams. If they trade him as well, then I could see them looking for a WR but I still don't think Rogers for Walker will go through.

What I don't like about Rodgers, what the Lions don't like about Rodgers, is that one game he can dominate, the next he gets dominated. He just doesn't give his all, doesn't put out the effort play in and play out. He has the ability to be one of the best, but he is fat and complacent since signing his new contract not long ago. I don't want someone who isn't passionate about football and only gives his best effort when looking for a contract.

How do the Broncos and Cowboys stay under the cap? Didn't the Broncos sign every overpaid free agent last year?
