No but if we can not get a week long campaign to stamp out drunk driving then we dang sure will not be able to stamp out texting and driving that way either. We have people on the road with 3 dwi convictions. Unfortunately a couple of texting tickets will not deter many people.

I'm not sure the social usage of texting compares to alcohol addiction. Also, a sober texter, in theory is more reasonable than a drunk driver.

The 'week' is a bit of an exaggeration, but I'm sure if we enforced it seriously, you'd see a tangible change.

Since when are you arguing against enforcing laws?
