When Travaris Cadet returned to the New Orleans Saints to begin a second stint with the team last December, the running back did so with more knowledge about his duties than at earlier parts of his career.

That know-how -- the ability to recognize what Drew Brees sees on any given plan and then try to make the right move -- appeared to factor in the team decision this week to release C.J. Spiller.

Cadet will now have the comfort going forward that he will be the team's top route-runner out of the backfield capable of turning a big play.
