SR Gang,

Like most of you, I can't wait until Sunday (woo hoo)!

Anyway, in the meantime, here are a few SR threads (before the start of the season) that speculated on what the Saints would (or may not) do in 2006.

Some were actually very good predictions. Others.... well, let's say they kinda missed their mark.

All of this makes me look back and say "Thank God for the way the 2006 Saints are (actually) playing."

Here goes...

Interesting to look back -- and how great is it to be able to look back and laugh?

Interesting thread. Hope someone can start a similar one halfway through the year this time around.

Maybe I'm missing something, but are the links supposed to match the prediction right before it?

For example, the line "Did Miami make the better choice with Culpepper over Brees? (Aug 28, 2006)" has a link directly below it from 2011 talking about scenarios for winning the division.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what happened here. I didn't click the links before...

So you bumped a thread without knowing what was actually in the thread? How did you think it was interesting? The title?

I'm confused. I like the thread concept as I'm sure I said some stupid stuff back in '06...cough, don't look at the Cleveland vs Saints gameday thread, cough....but I'm not getting the correlation between the description and the link.

I'm going to guess some plug in that auto-generates links when people paste URLs was added after 2006, so when this thread was brought up, it tried to auto-generate some titles, and somehow grabbed the wrong links. Or maybe when the plugin was installed it went through old threads to auto-generate links, and messed this one up. Who knows.

On a computer the links work.

On a cell phone they go to totally different threads.

At least that's what happened to me two days ago when someone linked to a game thread on the classic board. Not near my laptop to test if it's what's up here.

I thought the title for each link was good considering they are the headlines for the pre-season prediction articles which at the time the thread was posted were completely wrong.

Wow, I didn't realize the third poster was the one that necroed the thread.

:idunno:

LOL I was searching for something and this came up. I hadn't gotten to reading the actual links yet when I bumped it assuming they worked when I had to take a call.

Oh well.
