***TROPICAL ALERT*** Hurricane Isaias (1 Viewer)

Well I don't like this look at all. There we are smack in the middle of Maryland's lower eastern shore and assuming a NNE track, right in the NE quadrant. It's going to suck.

If you do, it's most likely going to be a tropical storm at worst. If it was late August or September i'd be more concerned .

My only real concern is that we've had a lot of rain lately and the ground is saturated. If we get wind and rain, we're going to lose a lot of trees. There are a few that need to go, however, so as long as they fall in the woods it's cool :hihi:

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it really make a sound? Sorry, but I remember that question from elementary school lol

I used to prefer to say "If a bear sheets in the woods an no one is there to smell it, does it stink?"

Actually, more often then not, there are other animals(deer, moose, squirrels, various types of fishes, foxes, wolves, lions, etc) are probably near or at the scene where the defecating occurs and certainly can intuitively smell or sense it despite their limited levels of cognitive comprehension and intelligence.

So, yeah, I think it would leave a very powerful, significant stench. sheet smells terrible irregardless of whether human or animal comes across it. That's just basic understanding of biology

Oh good, the question for the ages has been answered. :hihi:

Looking like the west side of the storm is being beat up by shear. Gradual weakening possible.

No one in my building has shutters up. They didnt even move the pool chairs yet. Kinda surprised about that one....Local forecasts are for like 40mph max sustained winds with gusts to 60. That even seems like the high end possibility. Our structure is a very solid CBS building.

Looks like I'm just SW enough of possible max FL impact....

Yeah, it's getting beaten up by dry air and sheer now. That said, weaker storms tend to travel more westward. latest GFS says
Palm beach county

I'm starting to like Lissette Gonzales more. She, and all of Chanel 4 is a lot less into 'storm porn' like the other news stations, and just gives the facts, pretty chill about it. Chanel 7 is all weather chanel.. talking about how it could be hurricane force (doesn't seem like it) in Broward, and they had a few different reporters at the beaches. One poor girl was getting rained on.. they were like.. "i know you are going to be able to go back to your rain coat, but while we have you here....." Poor girl was probably thinking how much she hates them.

. They didnt even move the pool chairs yet. ....
That’s just dumb - the most sure fired way to avoid a major storm is to prep for it
If a storm is in the gulf and I bring all the plants inside and lay the furniture on the porch, then the storm will hit between mobile and Biloxi
If not then it’s just days of watching the entergy outage map on my cell at 8% power

We moved most of our stuff.. just left the grill in the patio so far.

Pretty pathetic display by the weather channel.

Slowing down and weakening a bit. Bit firing convection in the NE of the storm.
