NEW ORLEANS - The Trump International Hotel and Tower in New Orleans is scheduled to open its sales office in the Pan-American Life Center, 601 Poydras St., the first week of December, said George Fletcher, president of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Adache Architect, one of the firms involved with the approximately $400-million project.

Condo documents should be completed in the next couple of weeks, Fletcher said.
Biloxi, Miss.-based Yates Construction has been selected for pre-construction services. As for when construction is expected to begin, Fletcher said that’s been a constant moving target.

I will be utterly shocked if that thing ever comes out the ground.

Shocked, I tell ya.

Thanks for the link.

I hope everything goes as planned and they all sell.

it will not be built.

Link..?? (sorry, had to)

Seriously though, are you basing this on something you heard or is this just a gut feeling? I have a feeling we will never see it, but I have some friends in the know who say it is still a go.

purely a guess.
we should know fairly soon, if they have just now started selling units.

Anyone heard anything else on this? Is this thing still a go? I see no activity around the site at all except for a sign and half a fence.

i've heard that donald trump's son is arriving in new orleans tomorrow (thursday the 24th) to officially open the new sales office. it's unclear what his role in the project is.

pre-sales are apparently running pretty good. naysayers abound but it looks like this will happen.

So the rest of the country is experiencing a housing crisis, but poor New Orleans is selling Trump condos well above what's expected?

They have done well with presales, which doesn't mean too much, except that Trump will have less of a problem getting financial backing because there is good public interest in the project, at the moment.

But it's no big deal for all these rich people who dropped down a relatively small deposit (if any) to just say "Meh, i'm not interested anymore." a few months down the road. Projects of all sizes die out like that all the time.

Hopefully that won't be the case. Trump seems to be steadfast about getting it done. Would hate to see a half-empty building.
