First come, first serve or dirty pool?

Can you slowly pull forward and if they stand there it's their own fault? Or does the person have a right to stand in the road?

The first come, first serve only extends to the car. Someone standing in spot is a moving target.

If they are tailgating on the other hand then it is proper to find another spot.

GOOD QUESTION
I don't often go "tacoes" be it can be a dodge, but I opted this time be I am flummoxed
I think this might be s completely situational answer
BUT the driver cannot contact the stander in anyway, if dtander won't move then there is literally a standoff

Now of course there is a corollary - using trash cans , et al to "reserve" a parking space
Imma bet there are people who will vote that driver beats pedestrian but garbage cans beat driver
Which is odd indeed

Sounds like a Seinfeld episode

I wouldn't personally stand in a parking spot, but I wouldn't try to "nudge" someone out of the way either. So, :idunno:

Aside: when standing in a long line at a food place where you order at the counter, is it a bit butt holey to send members of your party to sit at a table or booth before you order? Or does common courtesy say you look for a seat after you order? I'm generally :idunno: on this as well. We don't normally sit before we order, cause I would be embarrassed if people were walking around with their trays looking and I was sitting there with nothing. But I also see where having small children is a game changer.

You'd have to add the variable of whether there are some booths who have finished their lunch but are just chatting away making booths premium real estate

You mean like this?

Are you reading a book?

Btw chuck something can be "not cool" but technically "legit"

Very true. I'm not gonna confront anyone doing that, but I'm not gonna have a great opinion of them either.

Why does it seem like women at the mall that do this?

Well i would say most people would think twice about using their vehicle to move a female out of the way, but if you put a man in her place some drivers(not me of course) would see this as a challenge.
