Come on - dont' you know we're going to sing Lance Briggs, Haynesworth, Faneca, and Samuels, as well as drafting Dorsey, Ellis (in the 2nd), Connor (in the 3rd), and Cromartie (in the 4th)? :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

Hahaha that was the exact point of the OP.

There is a point to discussing it, assuming the Saints do the intelligent thing and get at least one starting CB in free agency, Let's not forget that right now, the two starters at CB are Jason David and Usama Young. :omg2: The first round choice needs to be either DT or LB. After that, they should choose five more defensive players. End of discussion. ;)

What if there are no good CBs available in FA? Trufant and Samuel could both re-sign, or, in Trufant's case, be franchised. Or maybe, just maybe, one of the other 30 teams in this league will outbid us. You can't assume that we'll get a CB upgrade, of which Drayton Florence is not, so don't even go there.

If Ellis and Dorsey are off the board, then there's no good pickings left at #10 for a DT and there's no point in assuming that we'll trade down, either, since we may not be able to find a trading partner that will give us good value.

A good LB can be had in the 2nd; in fact, more top LBs are 2nd round picks than any other round.

LB needs to be our 2nd round pick; DT, possibly, 3rd round pick, CB in the 1st, all the way.

END OF DISCUSSION! ;)

what else is there to talk about in the offseason?

Which is the truth, there really is nothing to talk about in the offseason until the free agency period actually gets moving, but at the same time...have you read some of these "draft and free agency" threads, there not realisitic, there all slanted to personal opinion and not how things will really go and judging by past offseason, should go.

Everybody wants the big name free agent(s) and its possible we can get one, but you know most if not all these guys (even some we didnt think would) will get franchised, half the guys people are screaming for would much rather resign with there teams than come to NO, and teams are not gonna just let said players walk, there trying to win championships to. The only big name guy I can see walking is Lance Briggs and thats because he will be commanding alot of money and he was franchised last year and the Bears arent "supposed" to franchise him again, and its a possiblity he could price himself out of chicago, everybody else (Trufant, Hainsworth etc) will probably get franchised.
