Tulane AD doesn't anticipate fans being at football games this season amid coronavirus

Tulane University Athletic Director Troy Dannen said Thursday that he doesn't expect the football team will have fans at Yulman Stadium this year amid the spread of coronavirus.

"I do not anticipate fans at any games this year, right now," Dannen said Thursday morning in a video conference call with reporters. "The plan is to announce 10 days in front of every home game. That’s tied directly into city’s restriction."

Do the Saints follow same footprint? It will be awhile before fans will be allowed.

Yeah they’re still planning on students
If you know the Quads, they are filled with those giant white tent structures (maybe 4 on each quad)
Some for testing but also temporary classes and some other uses

If it were up to each school without any outside pressure, 90% would bail on fall sports. Tulane definitely would. Only a handful of schools actually make money on football, but for everyone else is a giant money drain. Its why Tulane toyed with the idea of axing football and going D3 after Katrina.

I think Tulane will be far from the last to utilize this strategy. TV money will be driving force for games to be played in the Power 5 conferences.
