Without a doubt. That would have been an easy block, maybe for a TD, at least a FG for the Iggles. It was even more remarkable because the Hail Mary was a TD....

Richmond, I don't know about turning point, but you are absolutely right it could have been a real disaster, either if it was blocked or if Weatherford had not run for the first down after the remarkable sidestep. He sure kept his head and cool and it was a big play for our Saints - one of many like the Fugita stop on third down at the two!

Maybe "pivot point" is a better term, but if Weatherford takes a split second more, I think it would have been a turning point in the Eagles favour. A block coulr have given the Eagles great field position and momentum.Somebody buy Weatherford a beer.

Thank God we have smart football players instead of athletes that need coaching up.

If we're giving it up for kickers, I'd say Carney and Cundiff deserves some props also.

Carney has hit 10 in a row and has been the measure of consistency and Cundiff along with the kick return team has helped them clear up some early season problems.

I know Carney is not a Venatari type weapon hitting 50+ but his veteran clutchness is crucial as we go along.

Even though the play turned out in the Saints favor, I've been noticing that Weatherford is taking too long to get the punt off. Granted on that play, it wouldn't matter how quick he is, but he needs to speed things up.

That was a huge play, but the real turning point was the penalty on the Eagles when we had 3rd and really long and they sacked Brees. That saved the drive and allowed us to get a TD from Deuce.

Just goes to show you. Does anyone think Berger would have made that play? That could have been a HUGE point in the game.

Why is it no one thinks it was a designed fake punt? From what I saw, it was designed to be run that way. Think about it. The slightest hit on the punter brings a "roughing" call, so what do most defensive players do? Swan dive in front of the punter. They normally fall harmlessly to the side. You've got half the O-Line (right side) pushing down-field in a blocking scheme. That's how the guy got clean up the middle. The punter side-steps the swan dive and runs right for the first.

I thought it was a brilliantly-designed fake punt.

Just my opinion.
