I thought that trying to take the ball away while on defense was common sense and common practice, but man it feels so good to have the defense focus on this and actually be able to carry it out.
It also feels good to know that this defense is newly put together and that they will only get better and begin to gel. By mid season, we might just have one of the best defenses in the league.
The Saints have six interceptions, which is tied for first in the NFL, and one fumble recovery -- which came on special teams. Their total of seven in just two games is second in the league to the Eagles' eight.
In 16 games last season, the Saints had a total of 22 takeaways. That inability to create turnovers was just one of the reasons why coach Sean Payton hired Gregg Williams as his new defensive coordinator.

"Overall as a defense, we really think we are going to get better and make more plays," he said. "We don't want to get complacent in any way though. We're just worried about getting better. I just want the philosophy and the focus of each guy to just continue to get better."
