UEFA Champions League (3 Viewers)

I love that Real Madrid and Bayern are matched up now. I always hated whenever I felt that the big boys got some nice draws year after year.

Also, Leicester City got the worst possible draw in Atletico. Diego runs the same 4-4-2 but in a much more defensive manner....but still the same type of system.

Could easily see three Spanish sides in the final 4 along with the Dortmund/Monaco winner. That would almost certainly mean another all-Spanish final.

Wow. Three explosions

A Borussia Dortmund player was injured when three explosions went off near the team's bus Tuesday.

The German soccer team was scheduled to play Monaco in a Champions League match.

The team retweeted a police statement that said the explosions occurred shortly after 7 p.m. local time, but there were no further details.

Spanish player Marc Bartra was injured and taken to the hospital, the team said. It was not immediately known how serious Bartra's injuries were.

These kinds of things really show the value of Twitter. #bedforawayfans

Update. Police apparently have a letter claiming responsibility.

The explosion that hit the Borussia Dortmund team bus ahead of their Champions League quarter-final with Monaco was a targeted attack against the team, German police say.

The three explosions happened as Borussia Dortmund was leaving the L'Arrivee Hotel and Spa, about six miles or a 12-minute drive from the stadium, Signal Iduna Park, for a match against Monaco, which has been postponed.

The chief executive of a Dortmund, Hans-Joachim Watzke, said police informed him that the explosives that went off near the team bus were hidden by the exit of a hotel and detonated as the bus passed.

Defender Marc Bartra was injured in the explosion and was taken to hospital. Bartra underwent surgery on his right wrist, which was fractured during the incident, on Tuesday night.

The devices reportedly used to attack the bus were pipe bombs.

Police said they are hunting a car with foreign registered plates, which was seen near the crime scene shortly before the explosions occurred.

Bayern and Foxes both need two goals in 15 minutes to avoid ending their UCL 2017 run.

Actually I had that wrong (on away goal calculation) - Bayern only needed one to force ET. And they got it.

Ronaldo with the hat trick. He has 100 UCL goals. We're witnessing a truly great career.

a great game spoiled by horrible officiating
The send off for vidal...terrible. only thing I can think is on replay, ref angle to play may have given impression Vidal came thru from behind the player (when in fact he beat him to ball and it was clean clearance...RM player simply tripped over him since Vidal slid in )

That's first 45 was so action packed, it felt like it was only 20 min long. Even this 2nd half. I usually don't watch when I know outcome, but this was pretty fantastic end to end soccer.
