They said the drones were purchased prior to the UKR "special operation". But that doesn't explain why Iranians are still in Crimea operating the equipment.

Really doesn't matter who is operating the equipment. A target is a target. But, my guess is that Kherson needs to brace for what will probably be a lot of drone attacks in the coming days.

I almost wonder if this was a purposeful retreat by the Russians. To your point, they're probably about to blanket the city with shelling and kamikaze drone attacks.
