Wheat prices were a contributing factor in sparking the Arab Spring. Russia is the #1 wheat producer. Russia is also the fourth largest fertilizer producer and the leading potash producer. UKR can’t ship their winter wheat they just harvested and I bet spring wheat plantings will be cut in half or more.

I don’t think we have seen a peak in food prices. We are so early is this conflict/sanctions that real effects haven’t hit. The US is very self-sufficient, but EU, ME, and Africa may struggle without those inputs. It would not surprise me to see regime changes, some peaceful others not, in those regions.

 
McDonalds isn’t the only business to leave, just the one in the news more. And we have posted video of RF operations in this thread, not many because it’s not easy to find anything except for the Chechnya’s tik tok videos.

McD leaving is symbolic and doesn’t matter. The place will get a new name, use the same products/practices, and stop paying franchise costs. More money stays in Russia.
