The speed at which RU forces are collapsing is pretty unbelievable, but when you read just how corrupt their system was for so long, how terribly bad they treated conscripts ( shoot regular soldiers unless you are Special ops or officer ), the state of their equipment ( wont shoot, leaks oil, disrepair ) and just how unorganized logistics are, then you start to say " ok yeah now it makes sense"

but you cant wrap your head around because for DECADES we were led to think that the Russian Army was one of the most formidable armies in the world.

The stark truth is they are nothing more than volunteers that have ZERO going for them from whatever region of Russia they are from, so going off to fight a war, where death is an absolute possibility, is better than sitting home doing nothing.

my gosh...the curtain is being pulled back. Russia was never a superpower save for the fact they have nuclear weapons. THATS IT.

but they dont even have advanced weaponry in large quantities nor the capabilities to produce in short order. This "hypersonic" missile they boasted about- they used a handful in this campaign and stopped- didnt have any more.

All you really have are nukes.

It looks to me like Mr Aksyonov is going to be the one to lose his job and be prosecuted. If he lasts that long.

He's right. When this is over, you won't know if the common person on the street was for or against this war. You won't know if they were a putinist or an anti-putinist. It will be hard for them to travel in Europe without that stigma, without people looking at them and judging them. On the one hand, it's sad for the average russian who wanted nothing to do with this....on the other hand, they all knew exactly who putin is/was and were satisfied with him in office for the last decade or so. The only ones that had any integrity are locked up or buried.
