Underhill: “Rattler has the slight edge in starting QB battle heading into Minicamp” Jackson 6/11: “Rattler has slight edge going into Training Camp” (2 Viewers)

I know the history and sequence of events. I am just pointing out when he actually entered the extension. He balled on after he signed the extension, that is a fact, he also didn't enter the extension until 2020 which is also a fact. Thanks for the sequence for those who don't understand.

Sure. I'm just failing to see how when he actually entered the extension is actually relevant as it truly means nothing relative to his earnings and his performance.

Lies....if Both Shough and Rattler look amazing in the preseason there will be a QB need team that will hop on the Rattler trade.

Y'all (not all) but y'all hate this man for whatever reason and it's horrific as a fan base in general to display these sentiments-its disgusting.

And what if they don't look amazing? What if they both look like young QBs who need further development, which I think is most likely?

Nobody is hating. I don't think anybody really cares who wins as long as they turn into the QB that we all hope for. But there's a difference between hating and not jumping on the bandwagon till you see it.

We should all be very happy Rattler is killing it in these organized activities. Hopefully, it translates to pads and real football.

Iron sharpens iron. Hope these guys really go after it in camp. May the best man win.

Might there be a world in which they remain neck and neck through training camp, so CKM gives Rattler the nod to start the season, with the unspoken expectation that Shough will overtake him at some point during the season?
This is often the approach taken with rookie QBs, but generally there is a mediocre vet they are expected to overtake. In this case there is a chance that Rattler never lets go (however unlikely that may be).
That’s the expectation, that Shough would overtake Rattler during the season. However, the caveat would be our record. The first four games, Rattler will have his hands full. (a situation that he’s used to). If we’re 0-4 then we’ll see a change. But if we’re .500 or better, then Rattler will continue on, imo. One thing that I refuse to believe is that there’s an unfair bias towards Shough getting unearned playing time. It’s to KM and company’s benefit to have a fair competition.

I agree 100 percent. The media are trying to gaslight us into believing we have a competent qb group.
The media? No the coaching staff tells us that. The coaching staff has the most to lose. If they decided not to go and get a vet, then they believe we have a competent young group. They also believe that they can provide the intangibles that a vet could provide to young QBs.

How about this. What makes Rattler better than someone like Jameis? Jameis has better size, a good arm, and he can scramble well. But he's still not a starting NFL QB.

Say what? Talking about our local medias, none of them are hyping anything. They had only 3 open media practices to witness and they reported what they see. But they emphasized clearly each and every time that it was 7 on 7 with no pads and pass rush. And the real test will come once training camp arrives. They clearly stated this will be a good qb battle, which it will be. I don't recall one reporters stating we have a great qb group. Too early to say. The fans are the one taking this seriously.
There’s a podcast out there that claims that the Saints media when they show us practice clips of the young QBs, that they are purposely showing more successful Shough throws than Rattlers. In an attempt to Jedi mind trick us into believing one is better than the other. This is paranoid thinking. As if the preseason games and practices won’t tell what we need to know.

Tyler is the new guy. Of course he is going to get most of the attention . Also the media are limited to what they can show. The local media guys have stated this many time. If they are showing more of Tyler successful throw, why are they still saying Rattler is slightly ahead.

If Shough is not the answer then we draft a QB next year. As for as Rattler he was not drafted to ever be our starter. No one drafts a 5th rounder expecting them to be a starter. If Rattler is our starter we have a lot of problems. I'll end it with this "Green Bay Game". that answers all my questions about Rattler.

Nobody drafts a player with an expectation that their ceiling is capped at being a backup for their team.

Tom Brady and Dak Prescott didn’t start for their teams with the idea that they were only stopgaps for a future first round pick or free agent QB because their potentials were capped by their draft positions.

I’m not saying that Rattler will become our franchise QB, but suggesting that his starting indicates that we are in bad shape is not a guarantee.
