Underhill thinks Carr will be Saints starter [mod edit: Moore-Carr meeting went well; Saints plan is to keep Carr in 2025 & figure out contract] (103 Viewers)

I don’t like this move. We should took a chance with another QB with a low salary and if you don’t succeed then you’re going to pick high of next year draft to select your franchise Quarterback.
Now with this you are stuck with high contract and mid draft pick. Stupid decision and ML unfortunately keep ruining this team. Very disappointing and sad for our future as a team.

I just don't see it. Too many holes. Not enough elite players. Doubling down on the same injury prone player that only gonna get older and more fragile.

I don't know what to do with Olave(with him being a concussion away from retirement) or the defensive line.

Oline is really close to having a locked in core if you can get a good, young LG.

Very tough spot.
Olave was a big part of why we struggled.

Olave and Shaheed both going out completely tanked our offense. I hope Shaheed didn't lose a step from his knee injury. He's going to be super essential. We definitely need a big body TE that can go over the middle.

Not sure what TE going to do about the hospital balls from Carr.

Pass 1st. Ask if he knows what day it is Later.

It is... Only three QB has had any success post 35. Brees, Brady, and Rodgers. Everyone else had an immediate decline.
I would say Rivers did okay. Manning was over 34 when he had that magical 2013 year. Palmer was 34 in 2015? Oh, and let's not forget the legendary journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I remember Ryan cooked us for 40 points. It was sooo wild. That was 2018?

Simply not true. Football was played way before the 2000s. Rich Gannon had a so-so career until his late 30s when he became NFL MVP … Fran Tarkenton led the NFL in completions, yardage and touchdowns at 38 … Farve didn’t start slowing down until he was 39 and was 40 when he took the Vikings to the NFC Championship game won by the Saints … and Roger Staubach had one of his his best years at 36 … Sonny Jerguson did the same at 40 … Warren Moon had a much better season than most others the year when he was 42 … Others who had better than average seasons in their late 30s-40s: Ben Rothlisberger … Doug Flutie … Johnny Unitas … Earl Morrell … Len Dawson … Bart Starr … Roman Gabriel … Sammy Baugh … Y.A Tittle … Lotta Hall of Famers on that list, and only because of their younger playing years. It’s been in no way shape or form only 3. Brady, Brees and Rogers might be the best 3. They’re the most recent 3. But your generalization is way off.

Do you not know that the QB is NOT solely responsible for winning or losing a game?????? SMH
Just stop with this garbage. It’s insane how much you pump Carr up. What happened to you? We all used to respect your posts, now it’s just you being an butt crevasse for the sake of it and defending an undeserving QB

:munch:Unfortunately most posters really missed it in CKM intro presser. All signs pointed to Carr being back, other than media speak and Saints fans.

-called Carr a premier player in this league.
-repeatedly complimented the talent.
-highly complimentary of Taysom and AK.
-said they are going for winning the nfcsouth.
-reiterated the talent and leadership was the main reasons he took the job.

That is not the speak of a coach who is looking to rebuild everything. In fact, he was really doing a sell job on what he saw already on the roster IMO.

Now reports are saying Mickey being MORE aggressive in FA!!
CAN WE GO GET MYLES GARRETT!!:munch:

I just don't see it.
I get that you don't see the Saints as a good team, but Carr has a better and more fully informed perspective than any of us here. He had a meeting with Moore to discuss the plan. None of us were in that meeting, so Carr objectively has more insight and information than any of us do.

Carr has been been open and sincere that his top goal as a player is to win a championship and the meeting with Moore apparently went well which would indicate that Carr, more likely than not, has confidence that Moore's plans will give the Saints a chance at getting the team to the playoffs.
