Mick fails at acknowledging the gray area; he does the same with the Deer.
If Carr is the starter next year we won’t need to move up. This is terrible news for a team that needs to blow it up in the worst way.
Same. Can't wait. He's just very underwhelming.Carr reminds me so much of Brandon Ingram. Can't wait till he is gone
Agreed, the issue this creates however is you’re never putting yourself in the position to be the top or near the top of the draft to get one of the top QBs of that class. So if Carr Plays 15-17 games this year we’re going to have a pick as best as 12-14 in my opinion. What that means is come 2026 even when we move on from him, our cap will be better and we will be in a position to where we can actually spend a little money in free agency, the problem is we will not have our quarterback. And we will not be in a position to draft one especially after beefing up the roster in free agency 2026. I totally understand the cap implications and it makes sense financially to keep him until next year, but for the future of the roster construction, it does create a bit of a conundrum. The financials of cutting Carr have never made sense. They didn’t make sense two months ago and don’t today.
So what’s Moore going to do? Bench the best QB on the roster so he can hitch himself to a 5th round, second-year QB who went 0-7 last year just because? Maybe Moore builds a relationship with Rattler and becomes comfortable betting on him, but that’s going to take time.
Cutting Carr And starting Rattler would be a feel-good move for the fans, but it doesn’t add up otherwise. None of this means Carr is the QB in ‘26 or that we are making a long term commitment. It’s one bridge season and we see where it goes. As long as we keep chipping away at the cap issues, nothing really changes. It’s still a rebuild.
I may puke.So Mickey plans to restructure Carr and go all in on the salary cap again...
It was always a big ask to think Moore would willingly put himself in a position to not win.Agreed, the issue this creates however is you’re never putting yourself in the position to be the top or near the top of the draft to get one of the top QBs of that class. I feel that this is the year the damn breaks. We don’t have very much skill wise and the Oline needs major help.If that were true then keeping Carr would be fine. The issue is that Carr is just good enough to get you in the range of 7 to 9 wins which likely doesn't get you in the playoffs but also keeps you picking out of range of the top QBs.
Carr was on fire for the 1st 2 games, before everyone got hurt! I think if he has weapons, he'll do great, and can get us to the Superbowl. He's not going to do it almost single-handedly, but I think he's better than many QBs that have gotten their teams to the Superbowl. My biggest fear is finishing middle of a pack and missing out on a top QB next year. He’s not bad enough to the point we will only win 2 games or not good enough to where I say we are winning 10 lol.
