It is... Only three QB has had any success post 35. Brees, Brady, and Rodgers. Everyone else had an immediate decline. He only became injury prone when he came here.
34 is not old for a pocket passer.

Olave was a big part of why we struggled.I just don't see it. Too many holes. Not enough elite players. Doubling down on the same injury prone player that only gonna get older and more fragile.
I don't know what to do with Olave(with him being a concussion away from retirement) or the defensive line.
Oline is really close to having a locked in core if you can get a good, young LG.
Very tough spot.
Olave and Shaheed both going out completely tanked our offense. I hope Shaheed didn't lose a step from his knee injury. He's going to be super essential. We definitely need a big body TE that can go over the middle.Olave was a big part of why we struggled.
I would say Rivers did okay. Manning was over 34 when he had that magical 2013 year. Palmer was 34 in 2015? Oh, and let's not forget the legendary journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick. It is... Only three QB has had any success post 35. Brees, Brady, and Rodgers. Everyone else had an immediate decline.
I remember Ryan cooked us for 40 points. It was sooo wild. That was 2018?I would say Rivers did okay. Manning was over 34 when he had that magical 2013 year. Palmer was 34 in 2015? Oh, and let's not forget the legendary journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Simply not true. Football was played way before the 2000s. Rich Gannon had a so-so career until his late 30s when he became NFL MVP … Fran Tarkenton led the NFL in completions, yardage and touchdowns at 38 … Farve didn’t start slowing down until he was 39 and was 40 when he took the Vikings to the NFC Championship game won by the Saints … and Roger Staubach had one of his his best years at 36 … Sonny Jerguson did the same at 40 … Warren Moon had a much better season than most others the year when he was 42 … Others who had better than average seasons in their late 30s-40s: Ben Rothlisberger … Doug Flutie … Johnny Unitas … Earl Morrell … Len Dawson … Bart Starr … Roman Gabriel … Sammy Baugh … Y.A Tittle … Lotta Hall of Famers on that list, and only because of their younger playing years. It’s been in no way shape or form only 3. Brady, Brees and Rogers might be the best 3. They’re the most recent 3. But your generalization is way off.It is... Only three QB has had any success post 35. Brees, Brady, and Rodgers. Everyone else had an immediate decline.
I get that you don't see the Saints as a good team, but Carr has a better and more fully informed perspective than any of us here. He had a meeting with Moore to discuss the plan. None of us were in that meeting, so Carr objectively has more insight and information than any of us do.I just don't see it.
I certainly don't know. Not claiming I do. All I can go on is what Carr said, and unless they opened the door to a long term relationship with Carr, it doens't make sense for him to change his stance. It's just a matter of math. That would leave cut or restructure as our options.Carr said he would not take a pay cut the first week in January. MUCH has happened since then. Kellen Moore was considered a darkhorse candidate at that point. So who truly knows what feelings are now, except for Carr and Moore? Maybe he is willing to take a pay cut under Moore. Maybe he’s not but Moore has another plan he thinks might work. I’m willing to be patient and positive about all of it. Let it play out on their terms. Because no matter how much any SRer believes they know, it’s all gonna boil down to ML, KM and DC. They’re not going to pay any attention to beliefs anyone on here has. I see all this as good news. Compromise is good, especially when it’s for the best of the team and everyone who’s on it.
