Imagine following the Chiefs model. You groom Rattler for another year and you make the playoffs...perhaps starting him in a week 17 game because you've secured the division. You traded back in the 2024 draft so you have some extra capital. The league is going crazy over the QB's in 2025 but you already have yours so you can move up and draft an elite player who falls because of the QB's being drafted.
You already have a playoff team and you have cap space. You can officially turn the team over to Rattler not worried about if his supporting cast will let him down.
I like your vision of the future. I'm not sure this is a playoff team even with Carr, but if they hit big in the draft and pick up some good bargains in free agency, maybe they can win a bad NFC South. As the roster sits now, I think it's a 7 to 9 win team depending on health.
At any rate, I think they know they are going to have to rebuild the defense starting now which is why I think they hired all those young defensive coaches. So they could take a bit of a step back next year unless they really hit on some young defensive players this year.
But, there is no doubt that if Rattler can take a big leap this off season, or during the season, it would solve many problems for this team and make the future look much brighter.
