Well, he’s back: the New Orleans Saints are reuniting with cornerback Ken Crawley, a former starter who is signing with the practice squad. NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill first reported the addition, which was confirmed by SI.com’s John Hendrix. Crawley himself acknowledged the news from his official Twitter account.

Crawley fills one of two vacancies on the 16-man practice squad after wide receiver Bennie Fowler and defensive lineman Margus Hunt were promoted to the 53-man roster, so another move is coming. He’s also the third practice squad cornerback in New Orleans behind rookie training camp standout Keith Washington Jr. and free agent pickup Grant Haley.

A starter for the Saints from 2016 to 2019, Crawley’s tenure was filled with highs and lows; he would shut down Julio Jones in coverage one game before yielding dozens of penalty yards a week later. His inconsistency is what prompted the Saints to trade for cornerback Eli Apple, and ultimately what cost him his roster spot. ...
