Our Mississippi River Bridge.

Soggy - there is a story behind our Mississippi bridge. When they built the 2nd parallel bridge, they starting building on both the East and West banks at the same time.

After about 2-years when the bridge sections were getting close to the river banks on each side, the engineers realized there was a problem. The 2 sides would not meet in the center. They would be off by 20 feet. They had to make adjustments during the rest of the construction to get them to meet.

My dad, who got his engineering degree from Tulane said, "That has to be engineers from LSU who stay drunk in the French Quarter everyday!"
