The Raiders have allowed 44 sacks through the first 8 games of the season. Let that sink in for a second. This is second all-time to the 2002 Texans who allowed 45 sacks through the first 8 games of the season. Wow.

The Saints have given up 8 sacks through the first 8 games of the season, in contrast.

Last week, Adam Schein pointed on The Afternoon Blitz on Sirius NFL Radio that the Raiders had either thrown an interception or been sacked on 22% of their passing plays.

The Saints have thrown 8 interceptions to go with 8 sacks in 286 passing plays through the first 8 games of the season. So, through Week 8, 5.6% of the Saints pass plays have resulted in a sack or an interception for the defense.

The Raiders have thrown 12 interceptions to go with those 44 sacks in 177 passing plays. So, after tonight, 24.9% of the Raiders pass plays have resulted in a sack or an interception for the defense.

Now, for my favorite statistic from tonight's game. Seahawks defensive tackle Craig Terrill, a third year player out of Purdue, had THREE sacks tonight against the Raiders. Terrill was playing in only his third game of the season and has played in 25 games in his career with only two sacks before tonight.

Wow.

The Raiders run that playground play called 'Go long'.

By the time the receivers turn around the QB is sacked.
