Coach Billick has some interesting stats that are also very revealing. He calls it the Fox-Tox rating and it's based on turnovers and explosive plays on offense and how they determine how well a team is doing.

pretty cool. nice find

Thanks, I thought so too. I know sometimes stats can be misleading but in this case I think maybe Billick's onto something. :mwink: You see where the Saints are: right at the top doing exactly what we already knew they were doing, but now it's in black and white numbers for everyone to see and quantify.

I love it! :9:

It isn't knew. Coaches and analyst have been using turnovers has an important stat for years. Additionally, "explosive" plays are regularly brought up during telecast. If you recall that was on of the things we wanted to limit last year and this year. Creating a composite of the two stats is a logical way of looking at what teams have done.

There is no magical state (quantitative or composite) that will make predictions more accurate. Individual match-ups, coaches & p player preparedness, and injuries will always "trump" shortcuts.

This is something the gamblers would love to use, but ultimately get burn on,... look out suckers, here comes Vegas,..LOL
