That's saying a lot, considering how much football Drew has seen and witnessed.

That short clip was posted by NOLA.com a bit more than a year ago (Nov 2015). I don't think many WhoDats have seen it because it only had about 700 views as of last night (2-18-2017).

Here's that play by Meachem (from our 2009 Super Bowl run) vs. Redskins:

Here's the game-tying TD by Meachem. Watch at the 1:30 mark (on the near side) where he does a double move on Laron Landry and catches the pass over the deep middle. That catch sent the game to OVERTIME!

Sidebar: If you listen to the audio at that point, you faintly hear Redskins' fans say "OH S***!"... and "What the ****, Oh, my goodness!" :hihi: :ezbill:

WhoDat!

I loved the long pass play to send the game to overtime even more. It was unreal to see that our chance at an perfect season was still alive.

To think that Drew Brees witnessed several spectacular plays by Ladanian Tomlinson (while he was still at San Diego), Reggie's great run for a TD in the NFCCG (2006), and even the BEASTMODE run by Marshawn Lynch... for him to put Meachem's strip-fumble as one of the top five he's seen... says a lot!

That Meachem strip fumble TD was the moment I knew we were destined for greatness. I am pretty sure most of that 2006 championship team agrees.

I saw the Meachem interception-strip-touch down live. One of my most enduring Saints plays of all time.

And very air rushed out of that cold stadium on the missed field goal in the fourth, that was when I thought/knew the Saints are gonna win this game.

holy moley, 1st year editing student went to town on that clip

.

Who gets an A+++ for setting up the mood of when it played out LIVE!!!!!!

(Keep in mind, 1st year editing students have very limited resources!!!!!) :)

.

Also...

keep in mind the MOMENT/SITUATION of the play - 3rd and 26; Drew had to scramble to avoid the sack and keep the play alive; Saints as a team are still trying to "find themselves" (remember all the injuries to the, wait for it, secondary); the game itself was in jeopardy; etc, etc, etc...

.

This was my first and only Saints game. Really happy to have witnessed it live.
