Didn’t know which Jameis thread to put this in, mods feel free to merge.
This is a great breakdown. In short:
-Jameis has ridiculous arm talent. Arguably top 2-3 in the league
-he is very good at identifying coverage pre-snap and making the right throw based on the coverage he sees
-he struggles when coverage flips or teams successfully take away the correct first read for a given defense.
-a few of his INTs were bc of his pass-catchers mistakes (the guy doing the breakdown mentions OJ Howard).
Here’s where this could be the perfect marriage: SP is the best in the NFL when it comes to forcing a D to show their hand. He sends out crazy personnel groupings and formations that force defenses into uncomfortable spots, ultimately giving away their plan pre-snap.
If SP can help Winston stop forcing the throw on his first read when the D adjusts post-snap, their ability to demolish defenses when they identify coverages could be really fun to watch.
