So, I was browsing other news and happened to come across this article about Virgin Hyperloop. I had thought it was still just a concept, but apparently, they've recently tested it with passengers for the first time. Interesting development and it might not be too far off from becoming a reality.

The cost for such a system would be astronomical. Not only the construction costs but getting through all the protests from enviromentalists and land owners.They need to just go ahead and invent the Star Trek transporters.
