NFL Vontaze Burfict calls out Goodell and states that NFL games are rigged. (1 Viewer)

So Brees is cool with biting his tongue while the league fixes games against him? He pushed his rehab, because he was eager to get back to playing a fixed game?

I'm with you, it's not that bad yet. Drew knows there's something not quite right, but he also knows that if he plays his best game, he can overcome the monkey business.

Straw Man gonna straw, man.
The fact that you can't reasonably explain why someone as super competitive as Brees is would bother with a game that is fixed or rigged, doesn't mean I man a straw man argument.

It means that you realize that it makes no sense that Brees would be so competitive about a game that was fixed or rigged.

You are the one that actually made a straw man argument by accusing me of making a straw man argument.

He’s right. Glad he has the kahunas to state it.

He's not wrong. But he also is responsible for Antonio Brown going full nut-job.

I've said it before and will say it again. A city gives the refs a black eye with fans filing law suits and what not over a blown call. You'd be crazy to think any ref steps on the field with our guys and doesn't have that in the back of their mind.

This coming from a guy that can’t even name the players on the Saints yet is always in the midst of a controversial thread around here. Why post so many quotes over a joke? You obviously don’t get the running NFL meme jokes with that conspiracy attached to them. No one made this political but you.
Lol...very true. Another whiner. Boofeeakinghoo!

It's Vontaze Burfict. I really don't want him as the ambassador for bad officiating. They got it right every time it involved him. Really, are we at the point we have to champion Burfict?

What you have to ask is if "Michael Jordan" rules are ok with you in the NFL. It's not so much organized rigging of games as it is certain players (cough, Brady, cough) get calls that others don't.
Certain teams get escorted down the field while others don't.
Certain defensive ends (Cam, cough, cough) cannot get holding called on the guys they face to save their lives.

It's just been especially obvious lately.

I think they are more inclined to try and keep a game that’s getting out of hand, close. At least that’s how it seems quite often. It keeps eyes on the product longer. It’s all about ratings.

I think it's more about this. For instance, the Falcons game a few weeks ago. They reached for the flags early and often for ticky tack "he breathed on the other guy" types of penalties against the Saints. I think the league thought it would be a blowout so they were trying to keep it close.

Certainly the team didn't play well but at least half those penalties were nonsense. By the time they started equally flagging the Falcons it was already too late.

What really irks me is the selective "situational" flag throwing. They will wait until a big play to throw the flag. Big 3rd down stop, interception, sack....BOOM automatic first down on holding that happened away from the play. It's BS. IMO, it is to keep games close and sometimes personal biases come into play.

It seems too randomly bad across the league to be a coordinated effort to fix games. Seriously....watch 2 or 3 games each week. The officiating is out of control league wide.

I don't believe it's rigged, I just believe it's massive incompetence.

If it is fixed, please tell me how the Saints, who apparently it's rigged against, are 8-2.

If it's truly fixed.....then is it driven by Vegas or by Goodell's agenda?

Also, please let me know who it's rigged for so they will make the Super Bowl.....or are we only calling it after we see "incompetent" calls, and changing our narrative week to week on who its rigged for.

If it is fixed, we should absolutely be able to predict some of the winners this weekend, solely on the refs agendas.

Yet, still, our gamblers on here continue to hover around 50%, despite this rigged league.

What part of being rigged means that the OP knows which games will be rigged which way? Also, who says that the NFL always rigs it for the same teams?

As Saints fans, we all agree with this guy's statements on the current state of officiating in the league. Count me in as one who does not think the games are fixed or rigged like pro wrestling. The league has complicated the job quite a bit with rules upon rules, subjective calls on top of subjective calls. Then you have the "points of emphasis" emphasis only to completely disappear as the season moves on. This creates gross inconsistency. Then there's this high level of incompetence because the officials are not full time and do not go through rigorous training, testing, and are not really accountable. The NFL can fix it but won't because it is going to cost a lot of $. Not to mention the fact that they know the country loves football so we will continue to watch. Only way they'll fix is if ratings truly begin to suffer because of it, and I'm talking double digit drops in ratings over a period of years, not just a single season.

That’s exactly what the nfl wants you to think. I don’t think they rig every game but they do favor teams.
Jerrah Jones would cheat his mom for the win. Robert Craft would do worse.

Sad thing in all of this is that Burfect could have been an all time great at his position. He has thrown it all away, much like Josh Gordon, at least in a different way.

But yes, he is right about the Officiating. It is atrocious. And, everybody knows it.
