VooDoo ACQUIRE OL KELVIN CHAISSON FROM PHILADELPHIA
For Immediate Release: November 13, 2007
The New Orleans VooDoo have acquired OL Kelvin Chaisson from the Philadelphia Soul in exchange for the rights to DB Lance Frazier, it was announced by the club today. This move will add depth on the VooDoo offensive line as well as enhancing the competition at the position in training camp.
Chaisson (6-3, 313, Oklahoma) spent the 2007 season on the injured reserve list of the Soul. He came to Philadelphia after spending parts of 2006 training camp with the Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons.
Chaisson was originally signed by the Texans as an undrafted free agent in May, 2006. He was a three-year starter at left guard for Oklahoma and earned All-Big 12 honorable mention honors as a senior in 2005. From 2002-2004 Chaisson played alongside New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl T Jammal Brown on the Sooners offensive line.
Frazier was acquired by the VooDoo from the Tampa Bay Storm in 2006, but did not suit up for the VooDoo in 2007, instead playing for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL.
