The New Orleans were assigned former LSU defensive lineman and one-time Cincinnati Bengal Rahim Alem along with kicker Matt Denny, the team announced Wednesday afternoon.
Alem (6’3” 263 lbs. LSU) played 44 games in his LSU career, starting 13, including 12 during his senior season. In his career, he racked up 73 tackles, 25.5 tackles for losses, and 14.5 sacks. He was named to the All-SEC second team following his breakout junior season in 2008, in which he collected 8.0 sacks. In 2007, he helped LSU win their third national title.
Denny (6’0” 190 lbs. Carthage) stared at Carthage College (Kenosha, WI) all four of his years on the team, from 2004-2007. During his time playing for the Red Men, Denny hit 128 of his 135 PAT attempts and 40 of his 68 field goal tries. His senior season in 2007 was his best, as he hit on 11 of 17 field goal attempts and all 36 of his extra point attempts.
