And he made some good points about these roughing the passer penalites on the quarterback. I see why they wanna protect the quarterback, but it's starting to get ridiculous. As a defender if you inadvertanly touch the qb's helmet trying to bat the pass you get flagged (hargrove against buffalo).
Dilfer was pretty much saying how these rules are way too subjective and quarterbacks are grown men with a jersey on just like the rest of the guys on the field.
Cowherd thinks we should protect the qb b/c they're the biggest investment and attraction in the nfl. He says nobody would wanna see the Pats-Colts if the starting qb's were Jim Sorgi and Brian Hoyer.
