We’re close - not rebuilding (1 Viewer)

Belichick had a losing record @ Cleve. Pete Carrol had a losing record @ NYJ. Not saying DA is going to turn out like them and personally I would like a better HC but the Raiders have been a dumpster fire as an organization for decades so his tenure there is not the most accurate
Since the beginning of the NFL, what do all loser head coaches have in common? Average to bad QBs. What do all winning head coaches have in common? Good to great QBs. Belechik at Clev, bad QB = Loser Coach. BeLechik at NE with great Qb = winning coach. Same coach different Qb, different result. DA with average to good Qb in Carr last year : 9-8. DA w/ AD and JW average to bad QBs = 7-9. What will we be this year? Best case 9-7. But Carr didn’t play in 2 games, games we lost. This means our most likely record is 7-9. Just my opinion

This year has been screwed over by injuries. We started out 2-0 and were driving on Philly before the injuries started. Could’ve easily been 3-0 or 4-0 if we didn’t have the ppl injured.

After we lost a couple games it looked like the team had giving up and we had some bad games.

Still think if we get healthy we can win all of the remaining games and make the playoffs.

Do think we need to look into the medical staff and the strength an conditioning staff in the off season but we still have a couple season before we need to really blow it up

Injuries happen every year. That's why depth is key and where ML cap management strategy fails. We have no depth because we have too much money tied up in dead contracts.

SMH , yes injuries happen every yr to almost ever team , BUT not to the extent we have had!!!!! We have been decimated ESPECIALLY on the OL. And NO team spends starter $$ on backups for the OL.

We are just a middle team right now. We are as close to being an above average team as we are to a consistently bad team. But, you’re right, ML is not rebuilding either.

I didn’t say close to being a good team bc our coach doesn’t seem to be able to lead one of those. That or he is the most snakebitten coach ever.

Who's talking about spending starter money on backups? We couldn't afford to sign backups! We needed to sign a swing tackle like Hurst but couldn't and we shopped in the discount section for our starting guard, Patrick. And we couldn't even bring in some further competition for him and had to rely on Saldiveri who has been a disappointment since we drafted him and proved to be a major liability any time he was asked to be a starter. Patrick should have been signed to be the backup and we should have signed an actual starting guard, couldn't afford to.

Despite having an epically bad previous year in a different position Penning was the default RT because we couldn't afford to bring in serious competition. You wanted him to win the job in a competition against a veteran with starting experience but we couldn't even afford to do that. He was gifted the job and by the grace of god he's done decently in it.

We needed another $10-15 million to have a legit o-line but with $43 million in dead cap that wasn't possible. It's cost us games and the health of our starting QB.

Well - believe it or not - we’re rolling with what we have and there will be no reset , no front office housecleaning , no rebuild.

The company line is :

‘ next year we will have a young WR corps and young OL with a lot of experience , a veteran QB , promising young QB and AK. We need to get younger on Defense but , just like in 2017 we are a draft away from being the best team in the Division , we have a Coach we can win with that knows how we do things in this building ‘

2017 was the the Kamara , Lattimore , Ram draft. They have been trying to trade a draft pick for a veteran OL this week and they signed a vet WR and extended Alvin. We are 2-5 about to be 2-6 and are $81M over the salary cap.

The $81M over the cap is embarrassing BTW.

They are pointing to the Carolina and Dallas games as evidence that we are good and know what we’re doing ,the front office is blaming the season on injuries and running it back with all the same characters.

There will be no changes. The GM has his hands superglued to the wheel and Dennis Allen isn’t going anywhere. He is our Head Coach. Full stop.

The only possible way I can see Dennis Allen getting fired is if maybe they land at 4-9 or something and they want to send a message to the locker room and honestly maybe not even then. On the off chance he does get fired it will be Aaron Glenn as the 90% odds on favorite for the job. Nobody up and coming will want this job bc of the GM/ Front office situation and the team will only want someone who has been in the building and they have history with.

They are banking on the weak upcoming schedule and getting guys back healthy and let's draft (maybe hit like 2017) and do it again next season.

It is what it is. It’s not changing.

Wow. Such insight and original thought marvelously juxtaposed with whining.

Then it will be another decade before the team experiences success.

And it's going great.
