I know we all want to point out what's wrong with this team and why we again this season, like the past 2, started in a hole then climbed out but then fell back in to it. It happened in in 2014,2015 and now 2016. There are a lot of things wrong with this team it just so happens special teams has been the flavor of the year. The two seasons before it was the defense. The mistakes, the turnovers and penalties have been heavily peppered throughout the seasons mentioned too. The lack of discipline and sense of urgency seem to continue to rear their ugly heads. Yet we have not had the same players during those seasons. The common denominator during those and this season continues to be SEAN PAYTON. Ladies and gentlemen it is the elephant in the room. He is no longer the organized offensive genius he once was. It just may be time for a change that no one wants to accept. Believe me I am one of his biggest supporters and it's tough for me to say that. Some times it's just time to move on.

The common denominator is the City of New Orleans and Drew Brees! Move the team and cut Drew!

no the problem in the Payton era has ALWAYS been this - we have an offensive specialist as a head coach. The years we were at our best? we had a great DC. That's all that has changed, we are excellent on offense every year. The good news? Dennis Allen looks like he can get the job done.

Everything else we are seeing, these close losses - we are one of the youngest teams in the league. That's it. If Brandon coleman makes that long 3rd down catch on the second to last drive? We prob win. Its his 2nd year. If we don't get the kick blocked? We prob win, 10 point swing. Lutz is a 22 year old rookie. If we blitz and play man on the game-ending 1st down to Benjamin? We get the ball back with 2-3 minutes and prob win. Dennis Allen is a young inexperienced DC.

The NFL is competitive, many games REALLY do come down to a few plays. When we lose, we don't have to question everything. It looks like we are headed in a great direction for the foreseeable future, we are just young.

When you lose 4 out of 5 years and the losses are tied directly to reckless and questionable decisions from the top, you absolutely question the notion of continuing with the same decision makers in the same structure.

No one is minding the store on Loomis and Payton.

Thursday Night games....

Too little time to get well and prepared for a tough divisional game.

The NFL needs to nuke the short week games.

It just seems to me that this particular team hasnt figured out how to win yet. We are close though. Once we figure out how to play our best football in crunch time, the sky is the limit.

Of course Payton is the problem. It doesn't mean he will continue to be the problem, but he is responsible for the full product of this team. He sets the culture, approves of personnel and coaching decisions and is responsible for making adjustments where needed.

I'd give him a C- on all of those things this year. Combine that with a little bad luck in injuries, and you get a 4-6 record.

I respect your opinion. But personally, I think the year after year stats show that SP delivers Top 8 and usually Top 1-5 offenses, regardless of personnel. if DA continues the improvements on defense and the FO can get him a handful more of talented players, I think we look pretty good for a few years.

Thank you. It's rare the TNF teams look sharp.
