And if we would've done what you probably wanted this offseason, we'd likely have an overpaid underperforming or suspended QB, no WRs and no 1st round pick to fix the rest of the team...including QB who isn't going to work out.

If this falls flat, it's quickly reversible, but if we were out of 23 and 24s 1st because we splurged on Watson or Wilson, we'd be hosed royally.

We were scoreless after 3 quarters against a team that had lost the previous 9 in a row. Our offense is terrible.

We have looked bad, mostly on offense. The D has not been perfect, but they have been good enough to win.

Also we actually outgained CAR from LOS by 133yrds.

I know the easy target is Winston, and he disserves a lot of flak, but to me the glaring weakness that makes our play-calling, QB play, etc, moot, is the O-Line. Pretty much outside of a quick "dink and dunk" attack, I do not see much we could consistently execute.

The left side has been horrific and I am not sure there is a fix. If Penning can come back, and if he is ready to be a full time LT at this level, then we can slide Hurst to LG and the line should look infinitely better. That is a thin hope though, and even then we would have no depth... one injury away from a dysfunctional line again. Ram is already dinged, and not really playing like we expect from him.


Anyway, the issues with the team was not the point of this post. It was the 1-2 start to the season and the corresponding assumption that we are headed for a league worst finish.

Now most of those results will not build a lot of confidence in the Super Bowl or bust crowd, but a team with our O-Line play is not a contender, period.

Mostly I threw those results out there to show how many times we started the season looking like the sky was falling... and it simply was not.

That looks promising, but Payton isn’t here anymore, so looking at his past results is moot lol

This offense has now played 1.5 good quarters of football out of a possible 12. We have a very good argument for being THE WORST offense in the NFL. If you gave convinced yourself of anything different….I’m impressed…but good for you I guess. Just don’t try to pull me into your delusion.

We were down by two scores showing a complete inability to do squat on offense…we made it a score game…but the Panthers quickly changed it to two scores. Yes…a score lead is garbage time for the Saints offense this week

Pretty much like last year opponents get a lead and run the ball no chance of coming back especially if an offense can score a minimum of 20/21 pts. This year just more blame and excuses built in.
