We are now tied with Pitt and Oak (turnovers)

for the worst turnover diffential in the league. We are all at -9 for the season. I know turnovers are killing us but it is not the only problem.

Some of you guys need to realize that the saints defense doesn't ever hold up their part of the bargain...........to create turnovers themselves. As a few have stated on here our defense is well below average. In fact only Washington has created less turnovers on the year than the saints. Gibbs has to change things up or things will not get better. Payton has been amazing but Gibbs may end up being his kryptonite.

That is the one big change we needed from the Haslett regime was to get a positive turnover ratio but it seems like the same players are hurting us week after week. They really need to spend some time emphasizing ball control and proper ways to hold the ball. Bring in some experts if you have to!

Now this is a good point. People are pointing at the turnover differential but probably aren't factoring in the Saints only have 5 interceptions the entire season -- 2nd lowest in the league. The Ravens, by contrast, have 18.

Playing too much ZONE defense and the safeties suck. Its rare for an NFL qb to miss a receiver by 10 yds and right now that is what needs to happen for the saints DB's to get an interception.

We don't really have the personnel for man coverage. When your #2 and nickel corners are both incredibly slow you have to play more zone coverage.

You can look through my posts ... I was warning about TO differential before the Steelers game when everyone thought we were nearly invincible at 6-2. Turnovers dictate the football game and are the easiest stat to change. All it takes is mental toughness. If we don't give up the ball, we would have a neutral turnover ratio. So don't go blaming our idiotic corners who play the run on play action pass like linebackers and get beat deep always ... they are too dumb to fix that. But our offense is stellar, and can easily mend this issue.

doesn't help when their qb is 10 - 20 yards off, they don't even look for the ball.

at least Fred thomas attempted stripping the ball today.. he did knock it out of rudi's hands, but only right out of bounds.
thomas also, has come thru bunches, with reciever between him and the qb, and him reaching in at the right time to knock the ball away.
Just out of position to get the INT.
Seems as if he just totally lost the concept of making an INT, when he broke his hand and was playing with that cast.
when you have the opponents STAR reciever on your #2 CB, they do need safety help over the top.
putting MM on shadow of cJ might have helped today as they KNOW each others moves. I dont' recall Cj doing anything on MM side.
