I disagree. I think we should have gotten someone from the college ranks rather than retreads.

Really the Chiefs is not about Binenemy or Reid, its Mahomes, that is what has carried that team much like Burrow and Cinci last season.

Mahomes success strictly comes off the fact he can scramble for long periods of time and wait for a WR to get open. Chiefs would never have that success without that one trait. Especially when you got a defense that cant stop anyone.

Its really a combination of things, Reid is not a bad coach, his guys can also draft pretty good. But they made one change on an already stacked team and that was the QB position, and you see the result. It took a QB like Mahomes to come in and exceed any expectations for Reid to even win a SB, then it was over a vastly overrated 49ers team while also beating a crap Titans team in the AFCCG.

It took a QB that was even better than McNabb to do it, but if Mahomes cannot do any of what I said he does, you get stinkers like the SB vs Tampa, games like that where Reid and Binenemy both seem to be a deer in the headlights because without Mahomes scrambling buying time, they dunno what to do.

The Super Bowl was a case of the Bucs exploiting the injuries the Chiefs had on the O-line while having their defense peak at the perfect time and the Chiefs not being able to adjust. Coupled with those horrible calls, the Chiefs had no chance.

Ya, 3 super bowl appearances, 2 rings one as an HC and another as an OC, and multiple games in the conference championships with two different teams. It's the second-best resume among active coaches. Two coaches from his coaching tree have their own rings (Pederson and Gruden). But ya he's a choke artist
