Thanksgiving week is upon us. On Thursday most of us will settle in for a long meal and think about all we’re thankful for this year. Then later that night or early the next morning the psychotic ones among us will venture out at ungodly hours and trample four year olds en route to trying to grab the last $1.96 DVD copy of American Pie 2. Home of the brave, indeed.

Each team’s record, previous ranking, and number of first place votes (if any) are shown in parentheses.

1. Seattle Seahawks (10-1, 1, Both 1st place votes) - The big, juicy turkey of our group. You know, the one that has apparently been enhanced with all sorts of drugs.

2. New Orleans Saints (9-2, 2) – The mashed potatoes. Everyone knows they are great, but there are still a few lumps to get past every now and then.

3. New England Patriots (8-3, 6) - The dressing/stuffing. It’s always a staple at the top of your Thanksgiving list.

13. Dallas Cowboys (6-5, 14) - The tofu turkey. No matter how hard you try, you just can’t bring yourself to trust it.

31. Atlanta Falcons (2-9, 31) - The fish. At first you accepted your wife’s idea that fish on Thanksgiving would be a “nice change.” Then you realized it was rotten.

Gotta love it.
