Thats the thing thats always kind of bugged me about porn , would you want your sister/brother/etc. doing that? .
How is your psyche from your job? I know that mine is wrecked, as is my body.
I am a chef and I could make an equal video of just the people who have come through my life in the kitchen.
bigeasy was spot on, this is ridiculous sensationalism. Frankly speaking, how many of us aren't exploited by our employers?
Where is my charity for kitchen workers?
Dumbed down, simple, sensationalized reasoning makes me sick. This video says nothing. None of us know why anyone in this video committed suicide, nor does that mean it has anything to do with porn. Steroids? How about we address pop culture and it's body image demands rather than porn? car wrecks? my god. I will give them the AIDS thing but porn has addressed that issue and porn stars statistically have less stds than the general population due to rigorous testing. puke. what about the nfl? where is mercury morris when you need him!
The only line in my post that was directed towards your post was the very first one. My bad, I should have been more clear. The rest was a basic point that all jobs have people who suffer from drugs, aids and suicide. Those are social problems, not the problem of any particular industry. My other point was that all of our employers exploit us in the workforce. Ask my Grandmother about her corpul tunnel syndrome, my grandfather who died of lung cancer from doing muffler work for GM. I saw the theme the first time, I don't need to rewatch it. All of the themes exists in our world across the board, but they are sensationalized in the porn industry simply because the subject matter is sex. My wife teaches at LSU and occasionally teaches a porn class(no they don't watch any) from the feminist perspective in regards to academic theory, she is also published on the matter. Since I happen to know a lot about the subject I will say, although I am a man, that there is a lot more to the feminist perspective of porn than "being seen as a whore".How am I sensationalizing it? Porn is arguably a nasty business. Watch the video again and you see the theme: Drugs, AIDS and suicide. It's sad. I'm not opposed to porn. I've watched plenty of it. Own plenty of it. I'm not judging you for watching it or someone else for making it. But it's a sordid business. Just from a female perspective, you're famous for being a whore. I can see that eventually taking a toll on some of these women.
But I will say this for porn: It's the only industry where women consistently make more money than men. I suppose that's something.

iBut they all are whores, if nothing else just simply by definition...

Words like "respectable" and "normal" are not considered meaningful in this world. The whole point is too reject the male invented values about how women should behave with their own bodies. Patriarchal values are the enemy and the system to which they rebel. What is a "normal" romantic/sexual relationship? the sanctity of marriage? some have no concerns of such restraints and run in circles where "normal" is much more free. Not saying that it is for me, but it still exists in huge numbers of people in various different subcultures. As for the link, I am sorry but I choose to keep my family anonymous due to a freaky occurrence by someone on sr.Thank you for the clarification. I agree that many of us feel exploited by our bosses at one time or another. People who love their jobs and feel truly valued by and fairly compensated by their employers are probably rare. Depression and stress can take a toll on anyone in any job. But at least most of us work in jobs that are considered "respectable." However much porn all of us may watch, I doubt any of us would say we want our daughter or son to grow up to be a porn star. I also wonder how many people who work in porn have "normal" romantic/sexual relationships outside work.
Also, your wife's class sounds very interesting. You have a link to anything she's published available online?
