I think they were outmatically eliminated from the playoffs on 3/22/2006....the day they signed AB. Seriously though I don't think that is a huge surprise.

Brooks is not the most to blame.

He went from being coached by a former pro-bowl linebacker (Haslett) who put together some of the worst linebacking cores in recent memory to being coached by a former hall of fame offensive lineman (Shell) who has put together one of the worst offensive lines in NFL history.

It is quite possible that Brooks could be a serviceable starter under a coach smart enough to at least be able to get top-25-among-nfl-teams type performance out of players at the position they played in their careers.
