The Carolina Panthers took a big step toward keeping the bookends of their offensive line together Thursday when they reached a six-year deal with left tackle Travelle Wharton.
Wharton was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent Feb. 29 and could have been one of the top left tackles on the market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
