not sure if this is the case with SP negotiations but asking for the moon and also top dollar might not be it for him

I can see denver stroking that check without blinking but any type of "control" requests might be an issue when certain roles have been established there....meaning....lots of shade will be thrown behind closed doors when somebody hears the new guy wants to be over or replace what they do.

Payton didn’t want to coach a team with an overpaid, way past-his-prime QB, very little draft capital and, more importantly, a member of the ownership group that he clashed with?

Lol. Sure.

Yup. Great find.

Maybe I’m alone. But I don’t fault Payton for this. He knows what it takes to run a successful “program” and if other franchises don’t align with what he needs, wait it out.

And there hasn’t been anything so far to make me think he wouldn’t be welcomed back to NO in 2024 if DA keeps failing.

I for one won't welcome him back.
