I not even sure what the rules are for doing so. But I gather they can negotiate an extension at almost any time. Maybe someone can fill me in on how it works.

Not 100% sure on this but I think the team and players can work the contract out, it just can’t be signed until FA officially begins.

pretty sure you can re-sign your own players that are headed to FA before FA begins. but you can't sign another teams FA until the legal tampering period begins March 16-18.
