I am currently about 400 pages into The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. Excellent so far. It would be a border-line chick novel if not for the subject matter (Vlad the Impaler rawks your face!).

Good book, in fact I think it's a great book, but would bore someone with a short attention span. It is exceptionally well written, but reads more like a classic English novel than a New york Times Best seller (which it surprisingly was).

Anybody reading anything good?

The best that I read is SR.com. Seriously. I have almost no time for reading anything other than books to my kids. In about a week I will be able to recite "Green Eggs and Ham" to them without the book. :covri:

Nothing right now which is strange for me. I'll be watching this thread for suggestions. :D

I hear you about lack of time. I read just before I go to sleep. Sometimes it's 4 pages, sometimes it's 10 or 12. It takes me a long, long time to finish a book. Especially a 700-page marathon like I'm reading now.

I just finished "The History of Jazz" by Ted Gioia & just started "A Thread of Grace" by Mary Doria Russell.

right now im reading a thread on SR.com titled "what are you reading?"

I am in the process of reading three different books.
Professional Short Films with Autodesk 3ds Max.
Inside 3ds Max
3ds Max Fundamentals.
I am trying to get a better grasp on 3d modeling and animation.

"Wizards First Rule" by Terry Goodkind. I just finished "A Game of Thrones" by George R.R Martin.

1491 -- a book about the Americas pre-Columbus. Some interesting theories.

Playboy reviewed this a while back & I thought it looked pretty interesting. I may have to check it out.

SO there ARE articles in Playboy.

I am reading "The Wonder of Boys" which is nonfiction about how to raise boys to be good men.

Also a chick book, which I will not bother mentioning here as none of you would be interested.

I recently finished a great book (historical novel) about the assassination of the Russian Royal Family called "The Kitchen Boy."
