What kills you first in space? (1 Viewer)

what in the world?
Right....I had to text 2 buddies of mine to see what the earliest time allowable for chili. Both felt I was good to go....or they're using me as the guinea pig. That chili was just calling to me. I'm sure Texas or somewhere there's a chili and egg breakfast burrito or something....I just left the egg out.

I'm not dead yet but will update later if I do in fact start dying to warn others.

Don’t have to go to Texas (ever) at Camilla Grill you can get chili omelette
But most get them at 3am drunk [:nono:mod edit tvp] bc most people aren’t gastronomic sociopaths

They used to say that your blood would instantly boil.

In WW2 the bomber crews had to eat a diet that didn't include gassy foods (beans, onions etc) because of severe gas that could disable them.

Strictly speaking lack of oxygen is going to kill you within minutes.

Everything else that happens while quite gruesome, is not necessarily medically unrecoverable. But it may be something you don't want come back from.

The AI answer: "Without a space suit, a person would survive in the vacuum of outer space for about 15 seconds before losing consciousness due to lack of oxygen. The absence of atmospheric pressure would cause bodily fluids to start boiling and vaporizing due to the lack of external pressure, and severe tissue damage would occur. Death would likely follow within 1 to 2 minutes due to oxygen deprivation. Contrary to popular belief, a person wouldn’t instantly freeze or explode, but the conditions are quickly fatal."

Between the total vacuum, it being almost -500 degrees F and the complete lack of oxygen; take your pick.

They all kill you together

But I believe it would be your first attempted breath - whether you are passed out or not - would explode your lungs from the cold and negative pressure

Having your blood boil and vaporize through your skin would be a wild sight though

Unless of course, you are Princess Leia. Then space is fine for a few minutes. As long as they open the door to let you back in
