For me it's this. The crowd anticipating one of the best guitar solos coming up, with happy hot women all around me and the sun on my back.

Shame I was ten years old and in the UK at the time.

My Sister, her best friend, and a couple of guys had tickets to the Skynyrd show scheduled for Baton Rouge in October 1977. Of course that show got canceled after the plane crash. Don't know about the 2 guys, but my sister and her friend both tore up their tickets and threw them in the trash:covri::no::rant:šŸ¤¢

As a side note: If I remember correctly it was $7.50/ticket. lol

I could have gone to see Heart live, but for some stupid reason I got grounded.

An old friend's band plays a childrens NIH cancer research fund raiser every year. They usually open, playing mostly covers of Allman Bros, Pink Floyd, LZ and other classic rock. The headliner a few years ago was Ann Wilson (unfortunately no Nancy)....that woman is incredible, she hasn't lost a thing...and she did covers of Quadrophenia songs, Yes (All good people) and of course LZ....there were only like 100 people at the venue by the time she started and her band was fantastic....great show....

I also want to hear your "grounded" story Dave....

No, no. You have to tell us what for.

Lol, tbh, I don't really remember. I was at a Catholic boarding school in Searcy, Arkansas and the brothers there were sometimes strict. They would ground students for a variety of reasons, poor grades, missed homework assignments, fighting, misbehaving or breaking school rules, and even swearing, yes, swearing would get you grounded.

I'm pretty sure I got grounded that weekend because I had not turned in a project that was due that week. It sucked because I had to stay in school and work of my project while everyone else got to go.

I hated writing lines. The worst one for that was when I was in the gym and I was calling one of my friends a nasty name. I had to write lines in front of the gym where everyone could see me. It was pretty embarrassing.

And dood, you didn't want to get in serious trouble, because that meant your arse getting wrecked. We called them butt cracks because of the loud sounds it made on contact. Good times! :hihi:

I had tickets to see them in the Super dome. Unfortunately, Robert Plant's son tragically passed away during that tour and they cancelled
the rest of the tour.

Had a ticket as well. A group of us was coming down from Shreveport. Should have kept the ticket but turned it in for a refund. Stupid me.

I saw the Alman Brothers many times but never while Duane was still alive.

Any John Prine concert.

Jimmy Hendricks and the Band of Gypsies.

One of my biggest regrets was not seeing the Allman Bros with Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes....was too young to hope to see them with Duane....

But I really think Derek turned into what Duane would have been, or at least similar....

That's a fair analogy.

I have been listening to live albums with the evening cocktail on the patio for a few weeks now, so I am prepared for this thread...

Sam Cooke at The Harlem Square Club in 1963
Bob Dylan at the Royal Albert Hall in 1966
Jimi Hendrix at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival
Kiss at the Cobo Arena in 1970
Zeppelin at the Long Beach Arena in 1972
Alice in Chains at The Brooklyn Majestic Theatre in 1996.

There's a Coltrane album that's slipping my mind, too...

Showing my age again, but Kiss was not formed until 73 :)

I had tickets in 1980, but John Bonham passed and we got our money back. I'd much rather have seen the show.

Lately, I'd like to have seen Bruce Springsteen with the Dropkick Murphys at Fenway park. However, this is COVID, and no one was there. They played to an empty stadium :hihi:
