Beatles at City Park, 1964... i actually have a framed enlarged copy of the ticket from that day, and at one point a couple years ago i lived exactly 0.9 miles from the exact spot where they performed that day.. i used to daydream about being able to hear them from my house, then wandering down and entering the concert.. of course, I wasnt born yet when it actually occurred.
A close second would be Frampton in ‘76.. i have an older friend who actually saw him on that tour, and whenever i see her i ask her again to tell me all about it.
Sorry to quote myself…. But there’s an addendum to the Frampton story…. Every time I’d see my older friend over the years, I’d ask her to tell me all about seeing Frampton Comes Alive in concert in ‘76…. She’d regale me with the tale of how she and her friend , both only 15 at the time, hopped a bus to go see Frampton with, in her words, “only a dimebag and a box of Fudge Stripes”…. I always envisioned this epic journey, almost like something out of a Paul Simon song, where they rode 12 hours to see this once-in-a-lifetime event……. Well, last time i saw her, she clarified that the concert was just outside of where she lived in Pittsburgh, and - it was only a 10 minute bus ride ! So that takes away a little of the romanticism, but hey- if you can say on your deathbed that you saw Frampton live in ‘76, that has to be a major life highlight for anyone.
