According to the value chart, NFL Draft Countdown - Trade Value Chart, it would be an exact match of value to trade our #10 and #78 for their #7. Is this the only option?

In 2007, the Patriots traded the #28 pick for a future 1st and 2007 4th round pick (#110)

In 2007, the Cowboys traded the #22 pick for a future 1st with no extra compensation.

I know I'm comparing top ten trades with bottom half trades, but what if we didn't lose our #10 pick this year? Would a future 1st and this year's 2nd be overpaying for the #7? What if we could have Dorsey/Ellis AND McElvin/DRC?

Thoughts?

If they would do it, that would probably be a very favorable trade for us--we'd be hoping the future first we'd be trading to them would be a very very late pick... The #32 overall pick plus this year's 2nd would be NOTHING for the #7 pick.

Ellis+DRC would be quite a steal. DRC might have sort of a redshirt year, but by next year, he might even start and since it'll be next year's 1st we'll have traded for him, it'll be like it's his first year.

Alas, this will never happen.

no you can give next years pick and one this year or a player and pick etc.

but, it would take a 3rd round pick roughly in value

Not to mention the hoodie and company aren't stupid enough to think the the 1st rounder they'd get from us next year is going to be anything near the 7th or 10th pick in the draft.

Our 1st round pick will be essentially a 2nd round pick at #32 overall, or at best in the high twenties.
