Hypothetically, if we were to cut Vilma, Smith, and Harper, what would you want us to do with the space generated? And how would said releases and subsequent FA pickups impact your draft strategy?

*Correction: These releases save us 20M, but only reduces our total cap space to 14M being that we are currently 6M over the cap.

Sign Jake Long, Ed Reed, Charles Woodson, and Victor Butler for sure.

Not spend it all. Make upgrades, but not to where we're in this same situation next year.

I'm assuming you're saying 20 million dollars in cap space because of that bleacherreport article, but I have to bring up that we are about 6 million over the cap right now (from the last numbers we were given) and that would only give us a net of 14 million to work with. Just putting this out there.

Ok if we had $14 million, I would first sign Jimmy Graham to a long term deal. This wouuld probably drop it down to about 9 million.. Then I would sign James Harrison on a 1 year deal for 7 million. Then just give the other 2 million to Brees to save some money for the future.

We'd still have to sign or replace Bushrod, Smith, Harper and Vilma. I don't know if Harrison is an inside LB or outside LB, so I don't know if he'd replace Vilma, but we'd need to replace the guys we let go, especially at LT

He's an outside rush linebacker to the fullest
