I want to sign Matthew Stafford assuming the Lions move on from him as many are speculating.

That would be a dream come true. Stafford would DOMINATE is a Sean Payton ran offense.

But the Stafford thing sounds good I can remember when he was a big high school star around here. Gee, that was just a few years ago. Right?

If Watson was available, I would give up a lot to get him. He’s only 25, and a top 7 QB right this second. It’s much easier to put pieces around a quality QB than to win without one. Payton would make him into a superstar. And Houston might give him up because they are in a position to draft a top QB and the Saints are not in the AFC, which minimizes the damage of potentially playing against him.

Matthew Stafford is a good QB on a bad team. He would be worth every penny. I don’t know if he is a Super Bowl winning QB but he would be good for 10 wins a season here.

I’m not worried about the money in either case. If Drew were 5 years younger we know the Saints would fork over $35 M next year to keep him and be thrilled to do it. So if we pay $35 M for Watson or $30 M for Stafford, it’s a similar thing. We get to keep winning games.

One thing here. Houston is not in position to draft a top QB. Miami has their 1st and 2nd from the Tunsil trade.

I said Jameis and I'm kinda surprised how many others did, too. I dunno why I feel like we can have confidence in him; but I never had confidence in Teddy, though, I sure did like him a lot. And, as a starter, I just don't have confidence in Taysom that he's going to be healthy if he keeps playing like he plays. Need someone who's going to be able to last 16 weeks for at least the next several years.

Winston has thrown for 5100 yrds and consistently shown the ability to execute an offense and is probably the most talented QB Payton has had to coach and he's excited about it, if you can develop Taysom Hill to lead a playoff team to a 3-1 record in the middle of a season surely you can develop a QB who's already put up a 5100 yrd passing season to take over your offense.

I would love to see Stafford in NOLA. I think he is the best fit option to get a SP offense back where we want it to be. Would take Hella magic from Loomis, but he's done more with less

So you're basically saying that Fields will go before Wilson and we would have to trade with Detroit to draft Wilson, if he falls.

Simple bet..... I have Wilson being taken before Fields in the draft... ( as a Saints fan I would PREFER Wilson ) and you have Fields going before Wilson. Loser of the bet owes me an Abita Amber.
